GEDC Researcher Cressler and Team Win Best Journal Paper Award From IEEE

Atlanta -- John Cressler, a faculty researcher at the Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC), and two of his recently graduated Ph.D. students have been named recipients of the IEEE Electron Devices Society 2007 George E. Smith Award.

Cressler, Ram Krithivasan and Yuan Lu will receive the award for their paper, "Half-TeraHertz Operation of SiGe HBTs," at the 2007 International Electron Devices Meeting. The gathering will be held in Washington, D.C., in December 2007.

The paper, published in 2006, appeared in IEEE Electron Devices, volume 27, pages 567-569. The honor is given annually for the best paper to appear in IEEE Electron Devices, which is considered the flagship microelectronics-devices journal for the IEEE.

Cressler, a professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, is a GEDC researcher specializing in silicon-germanium technologies.
