GEDC researcher Ayanna Howard has received the 2009 Dr. Janice A. Lumpkin Educator of the Year Award at the 12th Annual Golden Torch Awards.
The presentation took place at the National Society of Black Engineers Convention on March 28 in Las Vegas. Howard, an associate professor in
the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was also featured in recent USA Today news coverage of SnoMotes -- robots
designed to gather climate-change data in harsh environments such as the Arctic.
